Liskeard Baptist Church was started in 2002 as a Bible study at the Liskerrett Centre. In 2005, Sunday services were started and in 2007 the church moved to the Girl Guide Hall where it continues to meet. According to our research, the last Baptist church in Liskeard sold their building on Barn Street in 1917. It is now a auto spares shop and there is little to no evidence it was ever a place of worship. The church then met in the Congregational Church building until it was knocked down in 1964. The Spar shop is now where that building was. We have not been able to find any trace of anything Baptist in Liskeard from 1964 until 2002.
We are a group of believers who hold to the truths of the Word of God. It is our desire to live Christ honouring lives so that we may be used of God according to His will. We have a burden to see people in Liskeard and the Liskeard area come to know Christ as their personal Saviour.
We welcome visitors and consider ourselves to be a welcoming church. Our services are neither boring nor crazy.
